Vice President of Engineering

As Vice President of Engineering, proven experience in leading important and diverse rail projects to completion in partnering with engineering professionals with freight providers and national major transporters of industrial products while supporting the company’s development team in making strategic investments in rail-served economic development projects and working with outside entities, such as Amtrak, to improve passenger rail service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Planning and Engineering Department
- Development and Management of Capital Investment Plan
- Coordination with Norfolk Southern
- Coordination with External Agencies
- Providing Economic Development Technical Support
- Providing Engineering Planning & Technical Support
- Preparation and Maintenance of Budgets and Agreements
- Reporting
Qualifications
Qualified candidate needs knowledge in the following:
Must be exceptional in both technical and practical knowledge related to the design, construction, maintenance, and development of rail infrastructure.
Minimum of 10 years of railroad engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a management position is required. Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Being an active member of the industry group AREMA is desired.
