Civil Project Engineer

Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina

Job Description

As a Civil Project Engineer with proven experience working in civil engineering designs that include site layout, storm-water management, storm drainage design, erosion control, water and sanitary sewer, grading, and permitting, the selected candidate will be a key team member to the Civil/Site department in preparing construction documents on a diverse array of projects including residential subdivisions, commercial site plans, and utility relocations for NCDOT bridge replacement projects.

Must have AAS or BS degree in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and Word are a must. Experience with MicroStation and NCDOT Roadway Design is certainly desirable. EI or PE licensure is also a plus.


Qualified candidate needs knowledge in the following:

  • ¬ Ability to provide supporting calculations for earthwork
  • ¬ Produce roadway grades and alignments
  • ¬ Ability to produce mass grading plans
  • ¬ Must have experience with site/CD permitting, reading and following codes, regulations, and design guidelines
  • ¬ Perform subdivision layout and provide construction quantity takeoffs

With civil engineering design experience, assist in multiple projects and work independently including office and field work. Collaborative and engaging attitude is necessary.

A minimum of 5 – 10 years of civil design and production experience is required. In addition to strong computer skills, candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
